Greetings everyone,

Today I am closing Tracker/2009-04-05, having implemented a "blocking feature". Basically this allows members to disallow messages from other members.

To block someone, do the following:

• Visit the other member's profile
• At the bottom of the page, click on the button that says "Block this member".
• You will have to confirm that you indeed want to do this.
• You can unblock members the same way.
• To view the list of members that you have currently blocked, visit your preferences page.

Note that blocking is a three-edged sword: If you block someone, you too will be unable to contact him. Also, the Admin (me) can mandate blocks between members, and these cannot be unblocked normally. (This is how I plan to deal with my bickering kids. :)

To be honest I'm a little unhappy about this feature in the sense that I was hoping there wouldn't be a need for one. It seems that I was wrong, and blocking is necessary to prevent feuds from other websites from spilling over to AllFighters. Oh well.

On to better things: The next feature in the works is Tracker/2009-01-03 2. Basically this is an extension of the favorites list; in addition to marking other members as favorites, you will also be able to mark the people whom you have met and fought with. If both people involved mark the other, it becomes RealFact^TM, and will show up on both their profiles.

Also, related to the ranking feature, I plan on creating a feature that I call Battle Reports. The idea is that you can share stories of your matches with the rest of us. The details are a little sketchy at the monent, which is why I would like to ask you all to add your comments.

In addition, I have fixed a bug that broke quick message deleting and blog voting on some PC's.

No, not the vinyl kind of record.

Yesterday (6th of April, 2009) we had the Highest Number of New Members since our site begun. Also, as a consequence, we are now over 600 in membership. Wow!

Some more quick statistics: Over 20000 messages delivered, 1362 photos (including the private photos), 223 recommendations (214 of them positive), 64 blog entries so far.

Dear members,

You can now attach one of your photos to your messages. This way, you can share your private photos with select members! Photo trading made easier...

Please note that if you delete one of your photos, it will be purged from the system completely! That means that the photo will disappear from any message that you have attached it to.

How are you gentlemen?

I got around to fixing something that I've been postponing for a while now: pages for displaying individual member photos. So now if you go to the photo gallery and click on a photo, you will be taken to the photo page instead of the member's profile. This is also something nice for guys who don't have javascript enabled in their browsers.

Coming up next: the ability to mark guys you have fought before! This is one of the features that have been requested by many people.

Also, for the self-control impaired there will be a blocking feature. I don't expect it to be much used, I just want cyber feuds from other sites from spilling over to allfighters. Once you block a user, he won't be able to message you anymore.

And now for some statistics: In case you haven't noticed, we have recently passed 500 members and delivered over 16 thousand messages. The blogs are a little underused: there are only 50 blog entries at the time of writing.
