Why are we here?
Why does a person join a site like Meetfighters?
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I joined for the primary purpose of getting some great exercise, and having fun while doing it. Sure, I enjoy looking at all the great pics guys put up. I even enjoy when a match turns erotic. But those two things are secondary.
In my year plus on here, I have never turned down a serious match opportunity. Hell, I’ve even said yes to the iffy ones. If I had a dollar for every no show, my husband and I would be out eating Filet Mignon tonight instead of marked down chicken from Krogers.
I fall into that category of being Too old, too young, too tall, too short, too fat, too skinny, too hairy, too smooth, too, too much.
I laugh at the guys who join, and after I welcome them to MF they promptly delete their profiles. I laugh at the guys who are so insecure they can’t be bothered to respond to a message, or thank me for a complement. Trust me guys, any faults you may perceive I have are not contagious, and definitely can’t be caught off the internet.
Now I’m not going to whine and cry and threaten to delete my profile. I’m here for the long haul. Anyone who wants to chat is welcome to contact me. Just be sane. The guys from 4,000 to 10,000 miles away who are going to come beat my ass know as well as I do that it’s not going to happen, so let’s just chat. Maybe compare workouts.
And, if life should bring you near Columbus, Ohio, or wherever you live falls into my travel plans, maybe we can get together, be for a meal, or a match, or just conversation.

11/17/2018 12:29 AMWell stated. I appreciate your entry. You have been nothing but nice to me. You do not even know me, however, you are a true gentleman. Thank you for laying it out.

Thank you. It doesn't cost anymore to be nice than it does to be an asshole. Nice is better.

11/17/2018 2:08 AMSeems like a lot of guys mention the abundance of turn-downs and no-shows – often for seemingly puerile reasons. But such is life on the Internet – just as ears ago it was the gay bars. I, too, have never refused a serious request if they are willing to come to my matroom here in Arlington, Virginia.
As to the reason for joining: very simple – hoping to find men willing to meet up to wrestle, train together in grappling/mma/body boxing/whatever safe 'n' sane – and to get some kind of "brotherhood" with fellow fighters. It's also for exercise; as I feel that serious wrestling probably exercises every motor muscle of the body in ways no amount of weights, machines, or calisthenics can accomplish.
So I have hopes of men in, around, and visiting the Washington, DC area will come take me on in the matroom, or (weather permitting) in a private area of the backyard. My ability to travel is limited due to costs and logistics; but happy to host anyone who is for real.
Despite the shortcomings of fakes, no shows, on-line masturbators and related with no intent to grapple, this site is still NUMBER ONE. Yes: There are times I wonder what's the use during those fallow spells (especially mid-November thru mid-January, and mid- Summer), However, any shortcomings are not the fault of the site---It's more so ,merely human nature.

11/17/2018 10:26 AMBeing a bigger guy I can so relate to this. Seems like everyone on here wants the six pack abs muscle, baby face. My favorites are the guys who challenge you and you respond to their challenge and talk for a few and than they never respond back. Or the guys who lead you on, you know those who have contact with and exchange numbers that seem all interested than all of a sudden they disappear and quit communicating with you. Everyone has their preferences I guess and to each his own. Dont get me wrong Ive met a few cool guys on here but thats few and far between.

11/18/2018 10:59 PMPeople like to think their community is special. But every community has walls, doors and other limits to maintain the selectivity of its members. People can be insensitive but thats life on the internet. Human nature is what it is.

11/19/2018 1:13 AMIf people don't want to match you, you can respect that. Though you don't have to respect their reason(s) if they're stupid. Then there's also styles/fight types not overlapping.

Exactly! I don't message people who are into things I'm not into unless it's to comment on something I have knowledge of that also interests them.

11/19/2018 3:51 PMI'm usually up for anything which is reasonably safe. So if someone approaches me with a suggestion which is his style; but I am not familiar/know how, I say "I have never tried that; but if you want to introduce me to it, showing me some of the ropes, I'm willing to give it a try with you." Probably one explanation for never having refused anyone to date and why everyone who has met me is welcome to return for an encore – even a few who tried to get to rough and had to be handled with nobody being injured – In fact, they were the most fun for me.
