Seen both those and a lotta other wild fight scenes in movies, but around high school/college age and randomly watching PBS one morning I saw an animated short of The Gingham Dog And The Calico Cat. It's a poem where the two main characters literally tear each other to pieces. Seeing the equal rage and hate between those two just had me going; seemed to bring everything that attracted me to wrestling and fighting together. Then the ending where there was nothing left but fluff and pieces of "fur fabric" was the clincher. And animated scenes in general always connect with me more.
Underworld: towards the beginning of the first movie... there is a scene with two werewolves clawing at each other naked in front of an audience, before they get interrupted by their leader who yells at them because they are acting like animals.
Before I saw the movie I did love wrestling around and playing with friends, but that never delved into fighting. That was before Simba fought Scar on top the mountain, and something in my awoke. The clawing, the biting, the scratching..I couldn't help imagine that being me rolling around with others and biting and clawing anywhere I could until I was made king. Even now talking about it has me hard...what was your awakening
There’s a1983 movie called Bad Boys with Sean Penn where he’s sent to a juvenile prison for accidentally killing the brother of a rival. Then the two rivals end up in the same place. There’s a scene at the end where the two fight in a very gritty struggle and the guards are all instructed to sit back and let it happen. Those two young men struggling in a fight for survival is my earliest memory of getting turned on by guys fighting.
