You hit the nail on the head – although I was imagining starting with regular boxing gloves. For me a match is all about a test of stamina, toughness and endurance against another for alpha wolf (I also like the sound of the fist to skin impact). Its that building intensity of how long you can endure that's the most gratifying.
Anyway, that's how I see all of wrestling. Without those components in a match, it serves no interest to me whatsoever. All I see is someone getting beat-up.

Fist has greater success at reddening a guy's stomach skin. It is easier to judge how deep you are going, with a fist, if a guy has limits.
Feeling that fist and palm punching and resting on my soft belly feels so good. Even when u push up off me from my belly is a hard challenge for me but if its added to my punishment then have at it.
I love the feeling of a fist in the gut...plus the puncher can hold it in as long as they want while the victim doubles over. A knee beforehand to soften them up might be a great idea!
I would do everything and anything. My go to is the fist, but i love the feeling of my knee digging into my victims gut. Infact if i was not given limits I would do the following:
- Trampling
- Stomping
- elbow drops
- knee drops
- claws
- squeezing
- massage
- sitting
- butt drops

The skull is very hard; at 6'4 I learned that the hard way. Nevertheless, the brain inside is vulnerable and you don't want to risk turning it into mush by having it slam into the side of your skull. Unless you're talking about some friendly horseplay, I'd save the head butting maneuver for extreme circumstance, or when its a matter of life or death. Anyway, my comment was specific to fighting.

I guess the skull is harder than even trained abs so I always thought head butting a head should hurt both fighters about the same!?
Using your head against an opponents abs might work, but its more likely to hurt you a lot more than it hurts them. Even if you know you have a hard head, you'd want to avoid using your head as a defense tool for obvious reasons. But sure, you could use the head butt as part of a wrestling fantasy, or during a less aggressive play wrestling session.
Another vote for kicks. Fists don't pack enough oomph, knees are too blunt. But a nicely aimed and executed, deep thrust kick with the heel can be quite the pleasure.
As a 13 yr kickboxer, knees, but that just me. What packs the most damage and impact is a front kick to the gut. You better be in shape to take and absorb.
Both! after taking a lot of gut punches, I once had a guy grab me by the back of my head and pull me down closer to him as he drove his knee up into my gut. He did this twice for good measure, which took the wind right out of me. I was doubled over on the ground gasping for breath and loving every minute of it. Once i had regained my breath he just pulled me up by the hair, pushed my up against a wall and started again
Fists: bare knucks have a great impact feel & sound, and when the knuckles get sore an assortment of gloves like mma gloves or weighted knuckle gloves keep a session interesting & challenging.
I agree with you about the fists, and I prefer bare fist since the sound of the impact adds to the intensity. I'm no masochist, but there is something beneficial to these things, if not primitive at the same time.
Fortunately, the rational part stops me short of doing anything too dangerous. The knee can crack or break a rib (typically a low level injury), but can do serious irreparable damage to internal organs, especially over time.
So I have an updated answer due to my recent experience. Punches I can take a lot of. I experienced elbows, much harder than I thought, but I can take those. Hard Kicks with a shoe on, that there really did me damaged. So much so, that introduced me to my weak spot on my abs. Knees are vicious as hell. I'd say the knees and kicks did more damage to me than punches. And that's saying a lot given this reason guy punched me with 90 percent of his strength, nothing fake thrown.

Knees deliver deep impact to a larger area, which I like, but are more likely to damage ribs.
Still, for some reason, I prefer the visual impact of fists to that of knees.
