Categories usually split into 2 or 3 groups. Organisiers sometime merge if not enough competitors but usually requires you all to agree.
Adult is 18 +
Masters 1 is 30+
Masters 2 is 36+
Haven’t seen another group however as a master you can compete in lower groups but an adult under 30 can’t register is a masters group.

Putting that aside. Great job and just keep building on your mistakes and soon you will be on the podium

Well done! I think you learn the most from situations where you lose. Good luck for the next competition!

Today i had my first match in a tournament, i was quite excited.
I was not expecting to be classified in masters, but i got told that it was due to the age, and then i saw that there were more participants in masters than other categories.
I did not win a medal, but i had a blast. There are things that i need to improve and my coach mentioned that from what he expected i did surpassed his expectations, now ill have this week to roll with my teammates and then prepare for the next tournament!
