Cyber Boxing Rules(?)

I guess my biggest rule would be to read the room. Now I don't mean that as in start trash talking, I mean that as in check to see if the person really is interested and what they want to so. This way you guys can come with an idea together. As @blackboxer said, the story is being built together. So if the story components don't click, then that is ok. Just simply say "hey I don't think this is working out that well." And then simply state that it feels off. If the other party member is understandable they will try to rework it to fix things. This way both sides are happy.

Here is where read the room comes into play:

A sensible individual works to find a solution through various keywords. A non-sensible person however would keep just egging it on until it comes to the point you have to hit the block button and give them a negative review.

Basically: Understand what both sides want. If say @blackboxer wants to have a match where he is the heel and you want a match where it is a no rounds punch to KO with you being a switch, then it may work. However if blackboxer wants a match where he heels and you just want to stand there like a punching bag in cyber, it maaaay not work that well.

(Any new rules I think of I can put as a reply)

glad that this discussion is happening.

I find that, like in real life, things either" click" or they don't

At least in cyber there is no awkwardness as you get dressed and packed up to leave early.

Iā€™ve had some terrible irl experiences. Time wasters who say one thing then you get there and itā€™s quite another. Oh well...

Hey guys,
Iā€™ve been debating on writing this for a while and with less and less enjoyable cyber boxing experiences Iā€™ve decided to speak up. Iā€™m not sure how to get This started other than listing what Iā€™m looking for in a cyber boxing experience. And maybe this will help get a dialogue started.

1) Donā€™t tell me what your punch does to me.

I canā€™t tell you how often Iā€™m boxing with someone and they tell me their jab bust up my nose and sends me staggering into the ropes. First of all I recognize this isnā€™t reality but come on guys, we are building this fantasy together letā€™s make it fun for both of us. If youā€™re looking for a certain thing. Tel me beforehand

2) Be creative.

I understand that not every turn needs to be Shakespeareā€™s but can we at least agree that you should at least tell me if the punch landed, if you blocked or avoided it? Iā€™ve cybered with people who just throw constant punches and donā€™t tell me if mine landed or what happened. I donā€™t want to just be typing text back and forth. I would like to engage in the building of the fight. Not just who can type what punch they favor.

3) Boxing is not a street fight.

I have no problem doing a fight that is light on the rules. But if you like to be punched in the nuts real it cyber doesnā€™t mean I do or have an interest in it. I like to cyber BOX. I will cyber fight but thatā€™s a different domain entirely.

4) If you donā€™t have a lot of time let the other person know.

We are all busy and we fit in play time when we can. But please donā€™t build up to the fight then just disappear. I admit on younger days I had done that and I sincerely apologize to anyone I have done that too. That being said I understand suddenly having to leave and maybe not having the time to say good bye or let the other person know whatā€™s going on. Iā€™ve had it happen several times and now I just donā€™t engage with that person anymore.

5) Know something about boxing

I donā€™t expect everyone to be a student of the craft but at least know the difference between a jab and a cross. Southpaw or orthodox.

I realize a lot of these can be summed up with communicate with the person your boxing with. But I guess certain trends seem to be coming up more and more often. If you have anything to add please feel free to post

Gloves up
Chin down!

#1 is my biggest pet peeve. Always leave it open what you're doing, but never tell me what your punch does to me. Might as well be sriting both sides for yourself! Great set of rules, thanks for laying these out!

What rules? Any cyber fight there only one rule is to not to put your turn at the end and not the do long sentence. Go with the flow and its just Role play. Imvu style mate

Ah thanks yt or your turn at the end as well is another issue although not as big an issue. The flow is hard for two people to follow if one person is trying to do all the directing of such flow. If that makes sense.
